Below is a list of training courses that may be of interest to you:
Ecological Risk Assessment – Fundamentals and Beyond
This course takes ecological risk assessment to a practical level, giving you an understanding of the process, touching on where guidance ends and “best practice” takes over, and focusing on what really matters in terms of protection of the environment and meeting regulatory requirements.
For contaminated site practitioners, site owners/managers, and regulators, to whom the knowledge and use of risk assessment is a must.
Terrestrial TRIAD in Ecological Risk Assessment – Mt. Polley Mine Tailings Dam Breach
This course provides a new and exciting approach to ecological risk assessments for large wildlands sites, like the Mount Polley Mine. The approach combines the traditional approach of terrestrial risk assessment with tried and proven methods from forest ecology to create a new TRIAD approach (similar to the TRIAD approach used for aquatic risk assessment).
For broad participation by risk assessors, site assessors, site managers and regulators.
Contaminated Site Fundamentals From Investigation to Closure (Sampling, Regulations, Fate and Transport, Risk Assessment, Remediation and Statistics)
This course provides you with the fundamentals of contaminated sites science, engineering and regulation and provides an opportunity for practical training through real life examples.
For professionals, practitioners and managers who want to learn how to apply science and tools to better understand contaminated sites investigation, risk assessment, and remediation.
Effective Spill Response in BC
This course provides an update on the province’s initiatives and intended direction; fundamentals of response, remediation and restoration projects; industry perspectives and experience from existing response regimes; Case studies pulled from the headlines; and insights on response organization, clean-up standards, risk assessment and compensation/liability.
