Join Andrew and Guy for an engaging discussion on the current state of practice of hydrogeology in contaminated sites assessment, and how to move the needle forward. Using examples from his upcoming GeoEnviroPro course: Analysis & Visualization of Groundwater Contamination, Andrew will provide some examples of visualizations that can improve your understanding of groundwater flow and transport, and introduce key approaches that will improve your communications skills and team decision making for both simple and complex sites. You and your organization are sure to benefit from this experience!
Dr. Andrew Cohen received his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a B.S. in Water Resources from the Department of Earth Sciences, State University of New York at Oneonta. His focus is hydrogeologic characterization of contaminated sites and related modeling of transport and fate of contaminants in soil, groundwater, surface water, and sediment. He is also co-author (with John A. Cherry) of “Conceptual and Visual Understanding of Hydraulic Head and Groundwater Flow”, which has been downloaded more than 14,000 times and is available in several languages.
Guy Patrick is a contaminant hydrogeologist and environmental engineer with over 40 years of experience across Canada and globally in the assessment and remediation of contaminated sites in soil, sediment and bedrock environments. At GeoEnviroPro, he provides technical training via in-class courses and webinars (http://geoenviropro.com/), with a focus on effective use of conceptual site models in site characterization, risk assessment and remedial planning.
