GeoPro Talks: Guidance on Critical Issues in Soil Vapour Intrusion Investigations

There continue to be important issues for development of the vapour conceptual site model and vapour intrusion investigations. This presentation will provide an overview of these issues or factors as described in recent guidance1 prepared for the Society of Contaminated Sites Approved Professionals (CSAP) in British Columbia as well as emerging issues for practitioners in BC. Factors addressed include shallow contamination, vapour bioattenuation, sewer (or utility) pathway, lateral migration and stockpile vapour sampling.

Dr. Ian Hers, P.Eng., CSAP has over 35 years of experience in investigation and remediation of contaminated sites. A significant focus of his work has included development of guidance and best practices for soil vapour management for professional societies and councils, regulatory agencies, and industry groups.
