In-Situ Bio-Remediation was completed following a fuel spill at a fuel bulk plant in Alberta. In collaboration with Clear Site Remediation, Langan trialed the deployment of a remote control remediation system entirely contained within a shipping container which can be operated and monitored remotely. Realtime water quality data from sondes deployed within the remediation zone monitored redox conditions in the aquifer to evaluate the consumption of terminal electron acceptors and infer the degradation of hydrocarbon contamination via facultative bio-remediation. Post-remediation groundwater analytical results indicated sufficient hydrocarbon mass was degraded to decrease hydrocarbon concentrations to less than their guideline.
